❛商品を1から企画・製造する際に良くD2C事業者様が考えられるのは、原価(低コスト)だと思います。
もちろん非常に重要なことですが、実は商品原価というものはお見積りに対して、例えば「もう●●円安く製造したい」となるとかなりの原料調整をしないといけません。

●●円安くするだけで使用原料を
Lグレードダウンしたり、
L商品そのものの価値が下がったり、
L商品のパッケージ(アルミチャック袋)も見栄えがわるく、

❛こういう低コスト化をしてしまうと、
特にサブスクリプション向け通販は商品の良さが減ってしまうので、継続率に悪影響が出てしまいかねないです。

❛D2C事業者様に会ったり通販支援会社とお話したりしますが、
「商品の大きさ」まで考えて製造しました！という企業は殆どいらっしゃいません。

❛何故商品の大きさ(厚さ)が重要なのかと

①購入者への配送コストがかなり大きく変わる
②商品の厚さを例えば25mm以上で製造してしまうと
→宅急便での配送方法になってしまう
③逆に商品の厚さが25mm以内に製造できますと
→ポスト投函の配送方法で配送できます

❛宅急便での配送コストは、
例えば「東京」から配送した際、東京から離れるほど、どんどん配送コストは高くなっていきます。
（例)宅配便60サイズ
東京→　隣接県へ配送した場合 500～700円前後
東京→　北海道、九州へ配送した場合　1000円超える

通販の場合、日本全国からご注文がきますので、平均運賃ですと600～700円前後になると思います。
さらに言いますと、送る地域ごとに送料が変動すると、原価計算が複雑になり管理も大変です。

❛一方、ポスト投函での配送方法の場合は、全国一律の料金で配送ができて、運賃も契約によって変動しますが200円台で済みます。宅急便かポスト投函便かで、最終的なトータルコストが500円前後も変わってきてしまいます。言い換えると結果、原価コストが100円前後上がっても、ポスト投函で送れるように改良した方がトータル的にみると断然お得になります。
 

❛サブスクリプション向け通販ではネコポス便のへの仕様変更が急増している！
「配達時に不在であることが多い」「在宅であっても受け取りの煩わしさがある」との声を取り入れ、パッケージを25mm以下の仕様に変更し自宅ポストへの投函が可能となり、「家にいながら買い物ができる」Eコマースビジネスにより特化した仕様にすることが可能。

配送料金を安価にすることも大切だが、購入者が求めるサービスを商品以外に付加させるか、需要を機微に捉えていくのも必要となる。
